Badischer Kunstverein, Karlsruhe
The central atrium of Badischer Kunstverein becomes a place for celebration.
Generated in this large festival hall are individualized spaces that translate anecdotes, archival materials, and illustrations drawn from the history of the Kunstverein into installative settings, each challenging visitors to discover and interpret these traces of the past.
The resulting objects and spaces function first as frame and furnishings for diverse event formats, but at the same time constitute a display of these found materials. Historical testimony is transferred into this space in abstract or distorted form, configuring a setting for encounters with the history and the specificarchitecture of the Kunstverein.
